I read “The song”. It was very move story for me. Lucia met a man, his name is Daniel. He plays guitar and his song is very beautiful. Lucia likes his song. And she loves him. But Daniel is blind! So she thinks it is difficult, because she is discriminate to Daniel. But, I noticed to her love. Lucia really loves Daniel. She can not forget Daniel. They quarrel. And they break up. But they see again in the Daniels concert. The story is finish here. But I hope that they will be happy!

Youme town in Hamasen

My favorite place is Youme town in Hamasen, which is a three-story department store. It has a lot of shops such as clothes, cell-phone and watch shops. Have you ever been to Youme town in Hamasen? Now, I will explain three shops(places), Rodeo, Meirindo and Food Court to you. The reason why I will do so is that I think they are convenient ones!!
Rodeo is a clothes shop, which handles mainly men's clothes. However, this also does accessories, socks and sunglasses. Therefore, women may be able to find things which they are looking for if they come here. By the way, I think the price of all goods is reasonable. There are clothes of various colors and logotypes, so you may be able to choose anything you want. Since there are three fitting rooms and two benches in Rodeo, you can try on clothes which you want to wear without reserve and take a rest here.
Meirindo is a book shop. There are various kinds of books here. For instance, comics, novels, references, magazines and so on. Meirindo handles general books. If there aren't books which you want to buy here, you can order them. It takes you about a week to get them. By the way, to tell the truth, Meirindo is a book shop combined with a CD shop. Therefore, you can also buy CDs here! That is why I think here is convenient. What do you think about Meirindo?
Food Court is where we can have something and take a rest. There are restaurants such as 'chanpon', 'okonomiyaki and takoyaki' and 'bibinba' ones here. Moreover, there is an ice cream shop here. The price of main menus of each restaurant is between 500 to 800 yen. Therefore, it isn't so expensive. Personally, I like to have 'bibinba' and 'takoyaki' at Food Court. In this connection, we can take 'okonomiyaki' home. What do you want to have if you go to Food Court?

Music is loved all over the world

Today, music is loved all over the world. The music can be divided into several types.
The first type is the classical music. Generally, classical music is considered to be Western traditional music, but originally, to be Western traditional religious music and music of Imperial Court. The second type is jazz. The origin of jazz is mixture of the labor song which blacks song, blues, and white music culture. A characteristic of jazz is a free form of expression. Now, jazz is one of the modern styles of music art beyond a race, nationality and genre. The last type is rock music which is a genre of popular music born in the U.S. in 1950’s. The rock music gave not only other music but also, thought, fashion, art, and pop cultures a shock, very strong. The rock music tends to strongly express a rebellious spirit and against the established general ideas and system. Moreover, rock music can be divided into more groups, for example, hard rock, heavy metal, punk rock and more!

Favorite

What are my favorite animals? I like nothing special. To stretch a point, I like dogs and cats because they are cute. So, I will talk about dogs and cats.
First, I mention characteristics of dogs. They have social conscious and they act in a group. Human beings and dogs have known each other long so they are obedient to us. Dogs also are essential for our life such as a shepherd’s dog, a seeing-eye dog, a police dog, a search and rescue dog and so on.
Second, I state features of cats. They have whiskers to decide to pass through narrow aisle or not, so that these whiskers help them run away natural enemies. By the way, why do we think cats are cute? It is probably that they have big eyes for their face comparatively and they have a round face.
In addition, dogs and cats are often used as a word of the proverbs. In proverbs using a word, “dog”, there are “Let sleeping dogs lie.” “Every dog has his day.” On the other hand, “cat” also appears in some proverbs, such as “Even a cat may look at a king.” “A cat has nine lives.”
Thus, dogs and cats are on friendly terms with us and they are popular as a pet because it is easy for us to have pets. I have never had pets so I want to have pets. [236words]

Memories

I have a lot of memorable days so I will talk about one of my memorable days. I think it is a trip to Yokosuka with my family.

When I was 18 years old and a cram school student in the summer vacation, I went to Yokosuka because I wanted to go “hide museum” in Yokosuka. I’m a big fan of hide. I had never been there, but the museum was going to close in September of that year so I once wanted to go there anyway. Of course I was a cram school student so I had to study more and more to pass university entrance exam, but I thought I lived to repent if I didn't go there.
When I went there actually, I was deeply moved by a lot of displays about hide such as his guitars, his photo, his stage costumes and his hand written song lyrics and so on. After that, I went shopping in “LEMONed SHOP”, which was produced by hide. There are many goods of limited edition so I bought the goods.

That is why my memorable day is this trip. It was quite special trip for me so I know I’ll miss him forever.　[202words]

Worst day

The worst day in my life was April 29, 1997. I was 9-years-old, and I went to my friend’s house.
He had a big dog that was called Benn. Benn was usually peaceful, so I liked him and used to feed him. I played with him and my friends outside. On eating sweets in his house, a brother of my friends went to him to give water. Then we heard the brother’s screaming. Benn bit his hand! His mother cured his hand in a hurry. I saw the dog, and I seemed somehow he was glad. He perhaps bit him for a joke, but the damage was serious. I was afraid and I decided to go home earlier than usual, so I went through the garden and put my hand on the handle of the gate. Then, Benn noticed me and ran toward me. I was frightened his action and I bumped my head on the wall. To make matters worse, Benn mounted me. I feared what he did next and I was worried about my safety. Thanks to the help of the friend’s mother, I could go home.
Once bit, twice shy, I did not be bitten by him, though. Since then, I do not like dogs. Just watching is OK, but I can’t touch them. The communication with dogs or other animals is a little difficult. The trauma will not heal soon. I am still afraid of dogs now. [241words]

“Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi”

I’ll introduce about my favorite movie.
It’s “Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi”. It is called “Spirited Away” in English. It is an Academy Award winning 2001 film by the Japanese animation studio ‘Studio Ghibli’, written and directed by famed animator 'Hayao Miyazaki'.
At the film’s beginning, Chihiro, a ten-years-old girl, and her family are on its way to a new home in a new town. When her father gets lost taking a short cut, they discover a mysterious entryway through a tunnel. Going through, they find a strange, beautiful grassy landscape, which they assume to be an abandoned theme park. The parents find stall piled with food and start eating and soon lose control of their hunger. Then, her parents have turned into pigs.
This is my favorite scene because I think it has something to do with a scene of the Japanese myth. I am interested in it, especially, the story of 'Izanaginomikoto' and 'Izanaminomikoto'. They are said the creators of Japan in the story, and the scene of the film is similar to it.
First, the tunnel which Chihiro and her family go through is 'Yomotuhirasaka', I think. 'Yomotuhirasaka' is the entrance to the underworld, and actually, they go to the strange world. The tunnel is the gate of the different world!
Second is the scene that her parents eat foods putting on a stall. After eating, they have turned into pigs. The phenomenon is similar to Yomotuhegui. It is the phenomenon that person who eats foods which are in the under world cannot return to the present world. Chihiro’s parents cannot move and escape and finally, they are arrested by officers.
There are many scenes which are worth to watch in the movie. I enjoyed myself watching it over preparing the similar things between Japanese myth and this film, however, this film also gives us more interesting and important things. I recommend it and please have an interest about Japanese myth. [324words]

Holiday

I watched “Lilo & Stitch”, which is one of animation movies of Disney. I had not watched Disney movies for a long time, so I was a little bit nervous.
Stitch is a prototype made by Jumba Jookiba. The character is very wild like a monster. He has a strong power enough to destroy everything and it is his instinct. Moreover, he can reflect bullets, count faster than computers, and see things in the darkness. However, Union army is going to kill him because he is very dangerous for them. He escapes from there to use a small spaceship and he gets to the Earth. He is very injured by Union army, he falls over and Earth people save him.
Around that time, Lilo is living as she likes. She is mischievous and her classmates don’t like her. She has a sister, Nani, and Nani is unable to control her. One day, Lilo insists on her request that she want to have a pet like a dog. Therefore, they go to a pet shop and Lilo finds Stitch there. She likes him very much, but he doesn’t like her. She buys him gladly, but she gets upset because he behaves at will. As the time passes, they get friendly, but he is caught by Union armies. Lilo gets involved in his problem, but finally, the boss allows him to stay with Lilo. After that, he and she are good friends.
Finishing watching this movie, I thought it is interesting, but is also predicable. I could predict the whole story and it is correct. I don’t think it is boring, but I expected surprising things like a sudden reversal. Lilo and Stitch are afraid of loneliness. I was moved some lines that Stitch said “I’m lost” over reading “An ugly duckling” and “My family, I found it by myself” (I don’t remember the real lines). Finally, I have a doubt. It is that some people say Stitch is pretty cute. I don’t think so. There is no accounting for tastes. [339 words]

How to cook “Nabe”

Have you ever cook “Nabe”? I often cook “Nabe”, and I like it very much!!
“Nabe” is healthy food, because it contains a lot of material like vegetables, meat, tofu, and more. So I think “Nabe” is necessary food for our health.
Now, I will explain about how to cook “Nabe”.
You need some vegetables like Napa cabbage, bean sprout, Mizuna, Nira, Welsh onion, Komatuna, Chingensai, and meats like chicken or pork. And stock like “Kimuchi no moto”. And a piece of Tohu.
First, please cut these vegetables and meat.
Second, please put these materials into pot and boil.
You have to wait sometimes. When I am waiting, I often watch TV or eat some snacks.
Some minutes later, please put “Kimuchi no moto” into the pot. And then, sometimes I put soybean paste into pot together. If you use soybean paste, you can eat more tasty “Nabe”.

And some minutes later, you can eat “Nabe”. I think you can enjoy “Nabe” time, if you invite your friends. “Nabe” is a party food.

Finally, you can eat “Ojiya” or noodle.

When I'm sleepy

When you've got sleepy at class, what do you do for the time left? Do you try to keep your eyes open for a long time? Or do you drop off into sleep soon? I think I'm the latter person and now is the time. I feel the scene in front of me is turning black. I'll not be able to see any light in a few minutes.
Actually, I haven't slept enough since the day before yesterday, because I had more important things to do than sleeping well: playing the keyboard, enjoying a wicked game, and...

Part time job

I have no part time job now and I won’t have any until I become a fourth year student. In the fourth year, I’m hoping to get a new one such as a private tutor who can teach English to high school students. I’m going to gain the English-teaching certificate, so I’d like to get some chance to teach English before I take the exam. I personally think the first to second year is a good time to learn a lot about our major and at the same time a necessary time to make many irreplaceable friends and do what we really want to do.
About half of my friends have a part time job unlike me, which sometimes makes me worried because they really look far more independent than me. I don’t feel I’m independent at all even though I’m living alone here in Kumamoto. The problem is who is earning my cost of living at the moment. It’s not me. It’s my parents. I haven’t earned any money myself. For this reason, I cannot help feeling as if I was a child.
Anyway, I'm going to have and experience at least one part time job for my university life. [202 words]

Music story

Music is essential for us to lead a satisfying life. Most of us notice that music has been such a huge part of our life that there has not been a single day without the sound of music. If we were put into a space without music, our heart would surely break, even though we don’t play any musical instruments. Why does music occupy such an important position in our life? There seem to be four answers to the question.
First, music provides an effective outlet for feelings, especially to children. Children can’t fully express their feelings with their words, but, for all that Children’s life is so full of restrictions, regulations, and frustrations that media of expression are essential. Music is one of the best avenues of release: it gives sound to fury, shape to joy, and relief to tension.
Second, listening to music enables us to control our feelings. When we feel depressed, cheerful tunes make us cheer up and when we are irritated, relaxing tunes make us relaxed. If the tunes have lyrics, they sometimes even make us take courage directly with voice.
Third, Music can remain forever in our heart, because it has no shape and we can listen to it whenever we want to. What has shape is someday lost, but the image remains in our memory. Music carries some images of its own even though it is not played for movies, animations, or games. Most of us can keep the images in mind for a long time, which we can remember every time we listen to the music.
Forth, music joins us together. This applies to not only the players but also the audience. Actually, there will be few experiences quite so happy as being able to share the same feelings with others with enthusiasm.
Such factors as these make music our companion for life. [311words]

Diary

I haven't decided what exactly I want to do this winter vacation yet. I'm just looking forward to seeing my local friends again. Most of them are third-year students as they didn't fail to get accepted at a university of their choice. Last winter vacation, we met again at Coming-of-Age ceremony and had a wonderful time talking a lot about our each university life.
This winter, I'm going to give my friends some little gifts I bought in England this summer. The presents are mainly key rings and postcards with a picture of a famous spot in Leicester. They'll be happy to receive them. After that, I'd like to go to a drink bar and karaoke with them as we did last year.
Another event I'm look forward to is seeing my relatives in Kumage in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Kumage has snow over 10 centimeters deep every winter and I'd say it is rarely seen in Kumamoto. I would often play with snow with my friends and snap off some big icicles hanging out of cars and roofs.
Of course, my fun is not only seeing snow and icicles. Whenever we go to my grandparents house, my grandmother makes for us delicious soup. I'd say it is the best 'osuimono' in Japan. [211words]

Plans for Winter Vacation 2

The last time I wrote my plans for winter vacation, I talked about exciting things. This time, I'm writing my studying plans. Just plans, though.
First, I'll post blogs more frequently. It's never to fail to get course credits of Writing Ⅳ. Actually I haven't finished the book review to be done by last Wednesday, and to make matters worse, I was late to hand in two movie reviews. In my opinion, posting three blogs in a week is really troublesome. That makes me have a lot of stress building up, but unfortunately, I have to do it whatever I have to complain about...
Second, I'll try to do a little bit of English everyday, especially listening and speaking. I'm going to watch some English animated cartoons broadcasted on ANIMAX. I can't watch them in my apartment, but I can in my home. Of course, we can watch NHK news in English everywhere, but it's boring and not helpful for me. Listening to that kind of English is far from good practice because it's not dialogue. No doubt that animated cartoons are better, don't you think? [187 words]

Different of a taxi

I learned the different of a taxi between Japan and America yesterday in Survival English Conversation.
A Japanese taxi has comfortable points. It’s opening the door automatically and clean. Mr. Morrow had a good impression at the first time when he watched the door opening automatically. On the other hand, the American taxi’s charge is much cheaper than that of Japanese one, but we give the driver tips in America. It is about 20 percents of the charge.

UNO

I played cards with my friends after school.
We played UNO and the millionaire with cards.

UNO is the major card game in Japan. American-Page-One is the origin of UNO, but Some Japanese do not know the name.
All of them are so strong that almost all of games had not been decided.
On playing the millionaire, as Revolution often happened, I had to have a cleverer piece of tactics. Revolution is the action that change the power of all cards. So poor card becomes strong one and strong card becomes poor. It needs the proper timing to do Revolution. It's depend on your shrewd instincts or skill.
It was very interesting and I was excited all the time.

“Kino-no-Tabi”

This is my favorite novel. The name is “Kino-no-Tabi” in Japanese, and “Kino’s travel” in English. The author is Keiiti Shigusawa. Although this is a kind of novel, I called such novel “Light Novel”. It’s easier to read than ordinary one.
The reason why I love it is the content.
If there is a country which all the people can know other’s minds...
If there is a country which all the people always tell a lie for a foreigner...
If there is a country which the people always decide a thing by majority rule...
Of course, these countries don’t exist on the earth. But if they do, what does it happen? The main character, Kino, experiences the happening and we readers are surprised and impressed by the result. [128words]

Ｔough day

Do you eat rice to the last piece? Rice cropping is very hard work for people who haven’t done in many times. Our family made rice seed beds. The amounts of them were 140!! We put soil in the box equally. Today’s work was that all, but it took about 90 minutes to finish making. After that, I ate a lunch and went to a field to burn withered weeds. It took about 70 minutes. I was very tired, so I could not eat dinner well because of the terrible exhaustion. After having taken a bath, I went to bet at once. That was a tough day.[107 words]

Old friend

I played with an old friend of mine. He and I have been friends for about 12 years. He is a university student and lives in Fukuoka alone. Yesterday, he came to see me at 16:00. Then, we had promised to play together. So, we went to a game arcade in Arao city. As both of us can play “DrumMania” and “GuitarFreaks”, I played the drums he played the guitar. In addition, we played a quiz game, “Quiz Magic Academy Ⅳ”, with him. The players battle with others on the online. There are about 8 classes in the game and I was in the third class from the top. The opponents were so wise that I almost lost. Finally, I got second in the tournament. I recommend it when you play with your friends, but it costs one hundred yen at one time. We had a great time. Machine

I helped my family’s business to make 140 rice seed beds with a machine. I put rice seeds in them, and covered them with earth. It was difficult to regulate the amount of rice seeds to put in a seed bed. As a result of trial and error, I managed to finish this job in the morning.
By the way, a weather forecast said that it was rainy in the evening. After finishing the job, I looked at the sky. What a fine it was! The latest weather forecast is vagabond.[91words]

Asomori Hayashi

I ate a Hayashi-rice in the cafeteria at Kumamoto Gakuen University a long ago. The name is Asomori Hayashi. I ordered the large portion of one. Look at the left picture. I put the big monster on left side, and my pass case on right side. The length is twice as large as the pass case is. It comes near about 3 servings of the normal size!!! We call it Morimori Hayashi!! It took about 20~30 minutes to finish eating. After doing, I suffered from terrible stomach ache and head ache. You should be careful not to eat too much.[100words]

I did a volunteer work today. I woke up at five fifteen a.m. and left my house at five forty-five. I took the first train with my friend and arrived at school at seven. There are about twenty people joined this work. We went to Park Doom by a courtesy bus. “Kagayaki Taikai” was held there, and over 15 groups took part in this athletic meeting for the disabled. We helped the members and sometime got in some competitive athletics with the member. I was very tired, but I had the great time. I want to join it again next year!! [101words]

Today was my little brother’s birthday. And so, I went to “Sinsen Itiba” to eat Sushi with my younger brother and father. There are many families. We waited for 30 minutes by any seats was empty. I like salmon very much. I did not eat any fish except salmon!! It’s just joke. But I ate lots of Sushi, true sardine, shrimp, and conger. Many people say that tuna is very delicious, but I do not think so because I hate tuna. After all, my younger brother ate 11 plates(Left), my father did 10 plates(Right), and I did 9 plates(Center). After that, I went to book store and game arcade. I enjoyed myself playing many things.　[115words]
