MASK

I watched “Mask”. It is comedy and romance movie.
Stanley is the main character of this movie. He is very kind but he is not so clever and he is very shy man. He is clerk.
One day he met a pretty and sexy woman. Her name is Tina, and she works in a night club named “Coco bongo”. She is very charming and Stanley fell in love with her. Stanley go to party because Tina dance and sing in the party. But he could not get in to the room because he has not so much money. He is ejected by a big guard.
After that, he fined an old mask in the river took it to home. He put on the mask to his face, and he transform to a strange man whose face is green and suit is yellow. He got a tremendous power by put on the Mask. He could not believe these things, he thought it was a dream which was happened last night. But he believed gradually, and he was afraid of it. He threw the mask away many times, but the mask returned to his house.
He put on it again, and he went to the bank and robbed money because he wanted to attend the party and wanted to see Tina.
Stanly could attend the party, and he saw Tina. She was dancing and singing, and Stanly danced with her.
Next day, he was arrested because when he caused bank robbery, he was recorded by surveillance camera.
Finally, Stanly fight with Dorian and he win to Dorian. And Stanly go together with Tina.
I watched this movie when I was a junior high school student. My old brother borrowed the movie from TUTAYA. But I couldn’t remember the story. So I borrowed the movie from GEO. I could enjoy this movie this time too. It was the best comedy movie which I have ever seen. [ 323 words]

Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet was a play written by William Shakespeare who was an English dramatist and poet, and who was the best English writer of English literature. He was also well known as writing the four best tragedy of him, which were Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, and King Lear.

In first day, Romeo (Leonardo DiCaprio) met Juliet (Claire Danes) in the masquerade which was held by Capulets but they were rival house and knew that each other. However, they fell in love at first sight each other and promised getting married. In second day, they got married but Romeo saw Mercutio (Harold Perrineau Jr.), one of his friends, killed by Capulets, so he killed Tybalt (John Leguizamo) who was a cousin of Juliet and he was deported on a court order. In third day, Juliet went to take advice from Friar Lawrence (Pete Postlethwaite). To succeed in their love, she once accepted getting married with Paris (Paul Rudd). After that, she took a drug to be state of apparent death. Friar Lawrence thought that he sent to Romeo to tell a plan that their going to Manture after she woke up, but he was not able to accept the letter. In the last day, Romeo kissed Juliet who slept by a drug and she woke up but he got something wrong and thought she was dead, so he decided to suicide by drinking poison. However, she didn’t die and found his dead, so she despaired and also decided to die.

School of Rock

I watched “School of Rock” made by Richard Linklater in 2003. This movie is comedy and the main character is Jack Black (as Dewey Finn).
He loves rock very much and has a passion to rock. However, He was fired from a bind and he spent dull time whole a day, but he heard news that a private school needed a teacher in stead of the former. He wanted a job, so he agreed the request. The school was very a famous school and the principle was very strict to keep the school well. He became a homeroom teacher, but he suffered from the atmosphere of the class. One day, he saw that the students playing their instruments well in a music room. He was moved the scene and asked them to play rock music. At first, they didn’t like rock, what is worse, some student were not interested in rock. Then he decided to force them to like rock and make a rock band with them. Their hearts got wilder and wilder. Everyone was in the rock world. The project went well, but it ended up wasted by a notifier. He gave up his goal and returned to the fallen life again, but pupils came to his house to wake him up and join a rock music competition. Although their team didn’t get the first prize, but the team got very popular and the schoolmaster got happy so much. After that, he enjoyed his life with teaching and playing rock.
I was impressed this movie. Recently, I started playing guitar, so I could learn a lot of things from this movie. I would like to buy this movie. And I would like to be good guitar player. [288words]

Shrek

Shrek is an American movie, which is a fantasy, comedy, adventure story in 2001. Also, the movie was a full CG animation film and the story is based on a picture book written by William Steig’s in 1990. This movie is the first film to win an Academy Award for Best Animated. The award was introduced in 2001.
Shrek (Mike Myers) is a large, scary, green monster who lives a quiet life in his home in a swamp, but this life is disturbed when he help Donkey (Eddie Murphy) who is talkative and who escapes from his owner. Donkey can talk with people so his owner tries to sell him because soldiers of Duloc buy some rare goods and animals. The Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) gets involved in ruling a “perfect kingdom” and uses the Magic Mirror to select a princess bride who he can marry in order to become the king. He chooses Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz). She is captive in a castle where a Dragon lives. The Mirror tries to warn Farquaad about Fiona’s secret, but Farquaad ignores it.
Farquaad holds a tournament to select a knight worthy rescuing Princess Fiona, but then Shrek and Donkey break into the tournament. Farquaad orders the knights to kill Shrek but Shrek fights them and defeats them, so Farquaad decides that Shrek is the knight because he is the winner of the tournament. Shrek rejects the order once, but he decides to go to rescue Princess Fiona in order to remove fairy tale creatures which are in his swamp now from his swamp.
When they get to the castle, a rickety bridge is in their way to enter the castle. They begin to cross but Donkey is afraid to cross, so Shrek forces him to move back and finally stepping off. When they enter in the castle, they split up to look for Princess Fiona. Donkey finds the stairs, so Shrek remembers a book which said princess is in the highest room of the tallest tower. On the other hand, Donkey also searches for Princess Fiona, but he runs into the dragon which is fire breathing and which is guarding her, so Shrek and Donkey run away but the dragon chases them. They manage to catch the dragon and Shrek attempts to kill the dragon but Donkey protects the dragon, so the dragon, which is actually female, loves him. Finally, they find Princess Fiona and go back to the kingdom.
On the way to the kingdom, Shrek gets falling in love with Fiona and she also loves him, but she has a secret. It is that she is also ogre actually in night. She tries to say that to him but he gets something wrong, so he gets angry and thinks she considers that he is ugly ogre. Therefore, he forces to take her to the kingdom. He wants to get back to his swamp. Donkey knows Fiona’s secret so he blurts out her secret but Shrek remains refusing to hear.
After that, Shrek lives in his swamp as before. Donkey can’t stand keeping the secret and leaving them so he tells Shrek the secret and what Fiona loves him truly. He finds that, he rushes to Farquaad’s castle to stop their wedding but he isn’t able to make it in time. Then, Donkey whistles so Dragon appears and takes Shrek and Fiona. Farquaad realizes that Shrek loves Fiona truly and begins laughing. Then Fiona shows Shrek her true figure, which is ogre like Shrek. Farquaad is surprised and he offers to kill them. Shrek whistles so Dragon appears again and she swallows Farquaad. Shrek tells Fiona that he truly loves her and they share a kiss that turns Fiona into an ogress all the time.
At the last, Shrek and Fiona get married.
I watched “Shrek” for the first time. It was very interesting and funny movie. Shrek is very reliable creature. So if I could see Shrek, I would like to be his friend. [665words]

Toy Story

Toy Story is a popular movie in Disney films. This movie is composed of computer graphics. It was released by Disney in 1995. The director of it is John A. Lasseter. Then, the genre of it is animation. Andy, Woody, Buzz and so on are characters of Toy Story. Among them, Andy and Woody are main characters of it. Incidentally, it made 3 hundred million and 6.2 million dollars in the world.
Andy, an owner of toys, gets a new toy one day. It is Buzz, Space Ranger. He is the latest one of all Andy's toys. Therefore, he has a lot of functions which they had never seen. Andy gets to like him about such as qualities and looks. Woody, his favorite toy, thinks he is the most favorite toy of all Andy's ones. However, Buzz becomes his favorite toy. Then, Woody is dissatisfied with it. He does various things in order that Andy gets to like him better than Woody.
In Toy Story, there were 2 interesting scenes for me. The one is that Andy's toys moved and talked each other only when he went to bed. There was an unspoken understanding, which is that his toys mustn't remind people that they can move and talk, among them. Therefore, they kept the secret. Personally, I thought they were great about it. If I were them, I would reveal the secret someday. The other is Woody's behavior after he got Buzz. Woody held his ground desperately. This was very impressive for me. Then, when I watched the scene, I thought I knew how he felt.
Toy Story was made for children. Of course, however, adults can enjoy its story enough. I learned the importance of friendship by watching this movie. If you have never watched it, I recommend you to watch it once. I think you will learn something from it. [312 words]

Who wants to be a star?"

I read "Who wants to be a star?" This is very interesting. Tina is a very cute Girl. She has beautiful curly hair. Everyone loves her. They all want her photo. She can have anything she wants. But she is not happy because she didn't want to be star. Her mother wants Tina to be a star and earn a lot of money.
She wants a quiet life. So she went to her friend grandmothers house. At there, she met Mrs White, and she could experience of many things.
Some days later, she went home with Mrs.White ,and She persuaded her mother.
After that, Tina enjoys her school life with her friends. Finally, Tina said "Who wants to be a star? I don't. "
I have not to be a star, so I don't know stars mind. But I don't like to do something which I don't like. I think Tina selects the best choice for herlife.

Dead Man's River

I read Dead Man's River. It was very interesting story. Now I will explain about this story. A man who named Jonas Clark comes into the bank. He love s Hetty. But her father Mr. Gray not permitted their companionship. Jonas Clark is poor man. So Mr. Gray not permitted their marriage.
He wants get some money, but how? Then, a old man named Harry was threatened by two men. Two men wanted to know about the place which was hid gold. Harry said "I can take you there."
They left from bar to go to the place. Jonas followed them with hid.
Jonas looked for gold in the place but he couldn't find gold. Then, he was found a man who threatened Harry. Jonas ran away desperately. And Jonas found a man. He was Harry. He also ran away from two men, but his leg was bad.
Jonas sent away two men, and he helped Harry. Harry gave gold to Jonas as appreciation.
After that Janas and Hetty can marry. Hettys father also permitted their marriage.
This is a happy story. I think Jonas is very brave man. I like his brave. But I don't like Hettys father because I think he want only money. If I was Hettys father, I permitted their marriage.

THE FIREBOY

I read "THE FIREBOY". It was very interesting story. This story theme is "success". Now I will tell yoy about this story.
This is the story of Hapu. He lives in Ancient Egypt at the time of Queen Cleopatra.
He lives with his father and makes gold tables and chairs. The work is hot and very hard. They are poor people. They need to money. One day, Bak has ill. So Hapu is very sad "Father works too hard". He thinks.
Bak is ill for two weeks. In that time Hapu makes a lot of table and chairs. He makes a gold necklace, too. "Queen Cleopatra is going to like this", Hapu thinks.
The next morning he goess to Cleopatra's place. But he was turned back by two guards.
He is very unhappy. "What do I do now?" He thinks. He heard "Cleopatra's women are coming here tomorrow morning.
"That's very good news", Hapu thinks.
Tomorrow morning, Hapu gives a necklace to Queen. Cleopatra gives a lot of money to Hapu.
After that Hapu and Bak are invited to Queen place. And they could work there.
I think Hapu is very lucky and brave boy. I would like to be Hapu!!

FLYING HOME

I read "FLYING HOME" today. It was very impressive story. I think it is the most impressive story which I have ever read. Now I will explain this story.
Felix is a blue and yellow bird from Brazil. He lives with the Baxter family in New York. Felix likes the Baxters, and the Baxters like him. But he wants to go home to Brazil.
He remembers the big, yellow moon in Brazil. Then he remembers his last day in the jungle. He was caught by the two men with white hats and sold to Baxter family.
He has a chance of escape to outside. Felix can see an open window. He escaped.
After an hour Felix stops. He stands on the head of the Statue of Liberty. At there, he metes a bird which wing is grey and white. They talk each other and Felix fly away.
Felix encountered a storm but he could find a ship. So he could rests on the ship. Fortunately, there are a lot of fishes on the ship. He ate a lot of fishes and fly away.
Two days later Felix flies across Peru. He looks down and see the Inca city of Machu picchu. He mets a big bird with beautiful black and white feathers. They talk each other and the big bird tells Felix that he has a friend from Brazil.
After that, Felix encounters some problems but he could mete Aca. Aca takes Felix to Brazil. And Felix could mete his family. He was very happy.
I think Felix is a very courageous bird. And I hope Felix could spend his happy life.

ANITA'S BIG DAY

I read "ANITA'S BIG DAY". It was fantastic story. But it was very interesting. I will explain this story.
Anita is a girl who wants to be a movie star. She has appointment to see Mr. Stein. She called her boy friend named Dan. He has a new car. It is fast, and red, and beautiful. "Anita likes men with fast car," Dan thinks.
He calls Anita's number. And Dan drive to Anita's house. And they met Anita's house.
"I love your dress. And your hair! You look beautiful!" Dan says. "Thanks, Dan" Anita says.
They encounter a lot of problem. But they could arrive to studio barely.
Boss of the movie studio, Mr. Stein, likes Dan because he can drive very well.
At first, Mr. Stein not accepted Anita to movie star because she a is short. But Anita could dance and sing. So Mr. Stein accepted Anita.
I like Dan because he is very cool. He can drive cars very well. I would like to be a good driver some time. And I think Anita is a very lucky girl.　[182words]

The Long Road

I read "The Long Road". It is story of a boy who has not his right leg. It is the impressive story. Now I will explain this story.
Terry Fox was a good student and a strong athlete. The happy times stop in March, 1977. One day, Terry is running home. He stops suddenly. The family takes him to the hospital. Terry has cancer and there is only one answer. On March 9, the doctor operates. There weeks later, Terry has an artificial leg.
He often thinks of the children with cancer in the hospital. He remembers a story about a man with one leg in the New York Marathon. He decides to run for children with cancer. He run a lot of place and a lot of people support and boost. He was award a prize of "Athlete of the Year". But Terry died on June 28, 1981. Letters come to the family around the world. "We are very sorry about Terry", they say.
I was very impressed. I think Terry Fox is very strong man. I would like to be a man like him. [186words]

Introducing myself

I will write some things about myself now.

First, I like English grammar best of all English subjects. Compared with this, I am poor at reading English books because I am tired while I read them.

Second, my character is that I am shy and skeptical. To change them, I am trying to talk to people actively and to trust them if possible.

Third, my hobbies are to play tennis and to bowl. Talking about the former, I belonged to a soft tennis club when I was a junior high school student. Now I play tennis as a hobby. Talking about the latter, I have scored 181, so I will try to score over 200.

Finally, my future dream is to become a Japanese cram school teacher. To realize it, I am taking several teaching subjects. Though it is very hard, I will make efforts and get over this difficulty.

Anyway, I would like to improve my English skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking in order to make my future brighter. I think I must make efforts more for this goal. [181 words]

Kumamoto

Kumamoto, there are many things which you need to know. Now, I will introduce to you some ones such as foods and festivals.

First, basashi means sashimi of horseflesh. This is mainly sold in meat markets. I think the price is a little expensive, but this tastes great! If you don't like basashi, I recommend you to have the cooked or grilled one! In this connection, compared with beef, basashi is light. In addition, this includes high protein. Therefore, this is relatively popular among women.

Second, a firework display is held every August. This had been held in the Lake Ezu until two or three years before. Incidentally, this is held in Ninomaru Park (near the Castle Kumamoto). Since a lot of people come to watch this every August, the traffic control is done by many police officers. Therefore, if you want to watch the firework display, you will have to go there by bus, train or on foot. It is troublesome, but this is worth watching once, because fireworks shot off in the sky are very beautiful!!

Third, 'shimotouri' and 'kamitouri' are popular spots in Kumamoto. These pictures are above. There are a lot of places in 'shimotouri'. For instance, clothes shops, bookstores, fast-food restaurants and so on. Of course, there are amusement places such as arcades. Therefore, you can enjoy shopping, playing games and having foods there. Compared with 'shimotouri', there are not so many places in 'kamitouri'. However, events are sometimes held near the entrance of 'kamitouri'.

Finally, mustard lotus root (karashi rencon) is one of local dishes in Kumamto. In this connection, do you know this is fry!? This includes mustard, so this is a little spicy. Mustard lotus root is mainly sold in shopping arcades, and famous for a ingredient of 'Osechi'.
